Hanmi Gallery London is dedicated to showcasing and promoting contemporary Korean and East Asian art to local and international audiences. With a second gallery space in Seoul, which features the works of British and European artists, it aims to foster a cross-cultural dialogue between Eastern and Western contemporary art. Since its first opening in London in 2011, the gallery has focused on new media and interdisciplinary artistic practices; it represents emerging and established video, performance, and new media artists, supporting their development and enhancing their visibility in present-day visual culture.
The gallery has also successfully run programs of seminars, art talks, workshops, and projects engaging with public audiences. Hanmi Gallery London is currently under refurbishment and is thrilled to open its newly renovated gallery space with an inaugural exhibition in Spring 2018. The details of its opening will be announced soon.
Celebrating the FOCUS Art Fair, the gallery will display collaborative works by artist Joonhong Min and architect Seungbum Ma in London and Seoul at Saatchi Gallery. Visitors to the exhibition hall are invited to the world of synesthetic art about the city by Joonhong Min who variates and expresses the impression of the city in various media and Seungbum Ma who expresses the inspiration from Joonhong Min’s artwork in digital drawing.
