Emelie PETTERSON

I’m Emelie Pettersson and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. Although I began my passion for art at a young age with doodling and crafting, discovering painting was the fuel that continued to feed the flames. I was hooked!

My colorful abstract paintings are inspired by my surroundings, friends, family, and the work of other artists. One of my strongest form of inspiration is independent women in media and films which is reflected in my love for painting strong, powerful women. These portraits are modern with lots of color and abstract elements.

I seldom plan for what to paint, instead the motive grows through the process. That is actually the best part, to let myself loose and completely follow the feeling of losing control and enjoying it. To let the painting and the colors lead the way.
