Jaime MCGLINN
Originally from Omagh In Northern Ireland I have Lived in Manchester for 15 years. I studied Fine Art In Belfast but my path took me into a Sales Profession and with 2 kids I Never found the time to paint. That all changed when Lockdown 2020 happened and I started painting again.. I Have Now taken up Painting Full-time and Im enjoying my new journey.
My work is inspired by music, every painting is a song or a piece of music that Inspired it. I use my connection to the music and translate that through paint to create landscapes. The colour, brush stroke and depth are not something I plan, I let the feeling from the music dictate every piece. I use a wide variety of music in my work, from Irish traditional to more upbeat and progressive music genres. I've donated a lot of my work to DJs and artists all over the world and I have been amazed at the support I have received. To date I've worked with Selador recordings and recently The Soundgarden which has been amazing. These works are from listening to more traditional music which I find soothing and takes me back to my memories of Irish landscapes which I have always painted from a young age.
