Trautwein Maria was born in Barnaul in 1990. In 2010 she graduated from the Novoaltaisk Art School. In 2018 she graduated from the Faculty of Monumental Painting at the Repin Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Lives and works in St. Petersburg.
Since 2013 she has been participating in group exhibitions in St. Petersburg, Moscow, China.
She also took part in online exhibitions in St. Petersburg and France.

Maria Trautwein's work is based on the categories of observation and rethinking.
The artist is concerned with such topics as
age, gender, feelings, personality, mortality. These topics are considered through personal sensory perception of life, especially during the childhood. This perception is superimposed on the system of classical academic education, referring to famous artists of
the past, comparing oneself with them, quoting their works, searching for the uniqueness of their time. The artist is inspired by the Renaissance, avant-garde, modernism,
contemporary British painting, performance, philosophy, literature, classical music.
