WORKS IN MOTION

In the current economic, social and environmental crisis context, artists can use there as a powerful vector of expression and communication. An invisible link but percussive and all the more interesting to develop. In addition to the social dimension, art must also have an ecological conscience, by questioning the consumer society. It must be of its time, by leaning on innovation in the digital world.

French artist Lina Khei applies this manifesto to her everyday life, bringing to light her series of “works in motion” that come to life through the bodies of women and haute couture outfits, that become true collectors items. Her digital work is also exploring new possibilities. Her current research work aims to create new forms of immersive exhibitions. Awakening the senses to the vision of a unique artistic composition and aestheticism, titillating the minds through the play of optical illusion that is also part of her universe.

Lina Khei creates extravagant couture outfits inspired by each of her collections, which she wears herself in public during her exhibitions. No one knows her true face, which she hides, just as she hides her true identity: the artist disappears behind her works to let them appear in the foreground. At the FOCUS Art Fair Paris, Lina Khei will exhibit her new collection of artworks. She will present several “works in motion” that combine the fixed format of the paintings and the movement of the bodies. Each of them is accompanied by high fashion outfits, designed by the artist, which enter the canvas: the woman wearing it stands in front of the painting and melts into it, becoming barely perceptible.

Thus, Lina Khei draws her inspiration mainly from the splendor and complexity of women’s faces and bodies. A perfectionist at heart, she reveals in her art the emotion, energy, and mystery that emanate from the beauty of women. From her works emerge a voluptuousness, a power, and an effervescence magnified by the vibrations of the colors and the play of the contrast and the illusions.
